Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages, located in Kaohsiung City, the largest city in southern Taiwan, is the only university in Taiwan specialising in foreign languages. Globally, it boasts over 300 sister institutions and offers a variety of programs, including graduate institutes, four-year colleges, two-year colleges, five-year junior colleges, and continuing education departments.The departments include Master's programs in English Language and Literature, Translation Studies, International Business Management, International Affairs, Southeast Asian Studies, and European Studies. There are also Master's programs for working professionals in Foreign Language Education and Cultural Enterprise Development, and Creative Arts Industry within the Communication Arts Department. Additionally, there are Graduate Institutes of Teaching Chinese as a Second Language, and undergraduate programs in English Language and Literature, French Language and Literature, German Language and Literature, Spanish Language and Literature, Japanese Language and Literature, Southeast Asian Studies, Applied Chinese Language, Foreign Language Education, Translation and Interpreting Studies, International Affairs, International Business Management, Digital Content Application and Management, and Communication Arts.The University has established and maintains collaborative relations with over270 universities and higher education institutions from 40 countries in Asia, America, Europe, Oceania and Africa. Collaboration between Wenzao and foreign universities and institutions covers various areas such as exchange of students and faculty, study visits, dual degree and research and teaching collaboration.

The Applied Chinese Language Department at Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages in Taiwan is renowned as one of the leading Chinese language departments and among the top institutions for Chinese language education in the world. It has numerous international collaborations and accepts scholarship students from the U.S. Department of State and Department of Defense for studying Chinese language and culture. As a premier foreign language university in Taiwan, this program offers not only Chinese language and cultural studies but also professional English courses tailored to different proficiency levels, enhancing the linguistic competitiveness of our graduates. This program's faculty is primarily composed of PhD holders, focusing on cultivating foreign talents in Chinese language with practical skills. In addition to excellent Chinese language abilities in listening, speaking, reading, and writing, and a deep understanding of Chinese culture, students also acquire application skills in international and Southeast Asian economics, management, translation, tourism, and administration. This program offers scholarships of 100%, 50%, 25%, 20%, and 15%.

For SPM applicants, a minimum of 1A is required.

For STPM applicants, a minimum of 1B is required.

2.International Program of New Media in International Business and Marketing ( Bachelor's Degree Program)

The "New Media International Marketing and Management Program for International Students" is established by the College of New Media and Management at Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages, offering a bachelor's degree program for foreign students. The College of New Media and Management, a practice-oriented faculty of the university, focuses on theoretical and technical foundations while emphasizing practical employment skills. In the era of global new media trends, it combines management fundamentals with marketing expertise to cultivate creative and managerial talents with an international perspective, emphasizing communication skills and competitive employability. This program uses Chinese as the platform, management as the foundation, and new media as a tool, aiming to create corporate elites for the borderless internet era.

Environmental Overview: Kaohsiung City

Kaohsiung is located by the southern bay of Taiwan and neighbors Tainan and Pingtung. It is Taiwan’s second largest city, and is only 1.5 hours from Taipei by High Speed Rail. Kaohsiung has the most beautiful harbor view, and is full of surprises with its city charm and ecological culture. Kaohsiung has an abundant of natural and cultural resources, farms, forests, mountains and hot springs, suitable for multi-day trips to experience the warmth of southern Taiwan! To experience the daily lives of Kaohsiung locals, you can take the MRT, LRT, or a bus, or rent a public bicycle simply with your iPass or EasyCard. There are also easier ways to experience the City’s unique charms, such as taking a Kaohsiung sightseeing bus (double-decker bus) or water recreation facilities.

Kaohsiung: A Muslim-Friendly City

About 4,000 to 5,000 Muslims live in Kaohsiung now, and most of them are Indonesian. Others come from Pakistan, India, Turkey and Malaysia. Every Friday, they give prayers at Kaohsiung Muslim Mosque at noon. Kaohsiung Muslim Mosque is the second mosque built by the early believers in Taiwan, and today it’s still among the six largest mosques in the country. It’s one of the only two places for Muslims to give prayers in southern Taiwan. Its services extend to Hualien of the East Coast. Every summer, the mosque organizes classes for learning Islamic culture and the Arabic language, especially for youngsters to learn the teachings of Islam.
