外國學生如欲在臺灣工作或實習(不論是在校內或校外),依規定必須先申請並取得工作許可證後,才能工作。

若未依規定申請工作證,即受僱為他人工作者,得處新臺幣3萬元以上,15萬以下之罰鍰。

應備文件: 
1.學生證影本
2.居留證影本
3.有效護照影本 
4.新臺幣一百元整審查費

其他相關規定(許可期限、罰則、工作許可之終止): 
1.外國留學生,應符合外國學生來臺就學辦法規定之外國學生身分。 
2.依據「雇主聘雇外國人許可及管理辦法」規定,來臺就讀正式學制之外國留學生,入學後即可向勞動力發展署申請,惟來臺學習語言課程之外國留學生,則須修業1年以上,方可提出申請。 
3.工作許可期間最長時間為6個月。 
4.於上學期申請者,工作許可證之期限至次學期3月31日止;於下學期申請者工作許可證期限至同年的9月30日。 
5.除寒暑假外,每星期最長時數為20小時。 
6.若未依前項規定,勞動力發展署得依就業服務法廢止其工作許可。 
7.未依規定申請工作許可,即受聘僱為他人工作者,依就業服務法,處新臺幣三萬元以上十五萬以下之罰鍰。 
8.學生因休學、退學者,若工作許可證仍在有效期限內,應將工作許可證繳回國際學生顧問室。

Other Relevant Regulations (Validity Period, Penalties, Termination of Work Permit):

1. Foreign students should meet the requirements of the Regulations Regarding International Students Undertaking Studies in Taiwan.

2. According to the "Regulations Governing the Permission and Management of the Employment of Foreign Workers by Employers," foreign students enrolled in formal academic programs in Taiwan can apply to the Ministry of Labor for a work permit upon enrollment. However, foreign students enrolled in language courses in Taiwan must study for at least one year before applying.

3. The maximum duration of a work permit is 6 months.

4. For those applying in the first semester, the work permit is valid until March 31 of the following semester; for those applying in the second semester, the work permit is valid until September 30 of the same year.

5. Except during winter and summer vacations, the maximum weekly working hours are 20 hours.

6. If not following the regulations, the Ministry of Labor may revoke the work permit according to the Employment Service Act.

7. Failure to apply for a work permit as required, and being employed by others, may result in a fine ranging from NT$30,000 to NT$150,000 according to the Employment Service Act.

8. If a student suspends or withdraws from studies but still holds a valid work permit, they should return the work permit to the International Student Advisory Office.
